Our Company
BeneOmega is part of the NourishLife group of companies. NourishLife was founded to create a dramatic improvement in health and wellness through better nutrition. There has been a dramatic shift in lifestyle and diet in the last century and we believe that many of today's chronic and widespread health problems are the result of these changes and resulting deficiencies, be they in CLA, Omega-3, other nutrients or in healthy exercise, fresh air, or even expectations, peace, quiet and mediation. After thousands of years of slow evolution, our society has been through a massive revolution in a short space of time. Human evolution, however, continues slowly and we have barely begun to adapt to our new circumstances.
At NourishLife we believe in building businesses that are good for the planet, good for people and ultimately profitable and therefore sustainable. In so doing we are able to best serve our customers and also channel some of our efforts and income towards charitable activities through the NourishLife foundation.
NourishLife was founded by Mark Nottoli and Roy Bingham, both veterans of the nutrition industry:
Mark
Born near Chicago to a free-spirited mother, who seeking adventure and a non-traditional life experience, raised Mark and his four siblings in the promised land of Southern California. Mark grew up in a multi-faith, new-age community in the 70's, consuming wholesome foods including veggie burgers and green drinks long before Whole Foods existed. His Montessori school education provided a diverse and unusual curriculum and sound foundation. Nutrition was practically part of his DNA.
Mark started business early, dropping out of college to create numerous nutrition businesses. He pioneered the “Intel inside” model for the nutrition industry, developing high-quality, branded, science-backed nutrition compounds including Tonalin and CLA One. Mark was fortunate enough to sell his businesses to multi-national firms.
Mark resides in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and four children.
Roy
Roy grew up near London where the food was so good! To make up for the overcooked vegetables he vividly remembers the fish oil capsules that were key to his Mum's armoury of healthy nutrients. Roy went on to a career in banking and finance in London and then moved to the Unites States to attend Harvard Business School. While there he met and married; Amanda. Amanda's mum once ran a health food co-op and the whole family are deeply initiated in healthy food and nutrition and alternative medicine – both her brother and sister have Masters degrees in Chinese Medicine and are practicing acupuncturists. Amanda – once a serious athlete and now a very active mum to two boys has gradually introduced Roy to healthier habits. This included introducing him to Marathon running and later to triathlons.
After Harvard, Roy worked in Boston for a big consulting firm and then started a specialist consulting firm focused on health and nutrition. Through his work there he met many of the leading figures in nutritional supplements and natural and organic foods and gradually incorporated his learning into his lifestyle.
In the 1980's, Roy volunteered, worked with and established charities that provided relief supplies, medical equipment and other aid in several poor countries including Romania, Ruanda, Tanzania, India and Nepal. Those memories of seeing extreme need and being involved in providing relief have never left and through NourishLife, Roy is seizing the opportunity to go back to some of his roots.
